How We Met
Neither of us ever imagined we’d meet through an online dating app — I went on a few dates and was about ready to give up when a notification popped up: “Michael has matched with you.” I was between flights when we first started talking, and even though our time almost expired, he extended the match—and the rest is history. We talked nonstop for weeks, feeling an instant connection before ever meeting.
When Mikey got back from a family trip, he asked to take me on a date. We realized we lived only ten minutes apart and went to dinner at Barcelona. Conversation flowed effortlessly, and we didn’t even notice the restaurant had closed around us. Afterward, he played guitar for me, and I was hooked. I texted my best friend that night and said, “I just met the man I’m going to marry.” Every year since, Mikey has recreated that first date. We return to Barcelona, remembering that night when time stood still and our forever began.
